From there, you’ll discover Roman Volubilis and the imperial city of Meknes before spending a full day exploring Fes’s UNESCO‑listed medina. Crossing the Middle Atlas, you’ll ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a night in a desert camp.
You’ll then walk through Todra Gorge, travel the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs,” visit the UNESCO‑listed Ait Benhaddou, and cross the High Atlas to Marrakech. After a guided tour of Marrakech’s palaces and squares, you’ll stop in Casablanca to see the Hassan II Mosque before returning to Tangier for your departure.

Depending on your arrival time, you can wander through the medina, feel the energy of Petit Socco Square, and enjoy the views of the Strait of Gibraltar from Café Hafa.
After breakfast, we bid farewell to Tangier and head inland toward the Rif Mountains. Our destination is the dazzling “Blue City” of Chefchaouen. Upon arrival, you’ll be immersed in a world of blue hues and winding alleyways. The afternoon is yours to explore, photograph, and absorb the unique, tranquil atmosphere. Overnight in a riad.
Enjoy a final morning in Chefchaouen, perhaps climbing to the Spanish Mosque for a panoramic view. We then travel south to discover the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis – a journey back in time among mosaics and ancient columns. We continue to the imperial city of Meknes to admire the magnificent Bab Mansour Gate. Arrive in Fes at dusk.
Day 4: Fes – Full Day Guided Tour
A day dedicated to exploring Fes, the cultural and spiritual capital. With an expert local guide, you’ll explore Fes el‑Bali, the world’s largest medieval medina. Discover the University of Al‑Qarawiyyin, the colorful Chouara tanneries, and the magnificent Bou Inania Madrasa. The afternoon is ideal for getting lost in the lively souks.
Today, we change scenery radically, heading into the Middle Atlas Mountains. We pass through Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the Cedar Forest of Azrou to see Barbary macaques. The landscape becomes arid as we approach the Sahara. Arrive in Merzouga, where you’ll ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes for an unforgettable sunset. Overnight in a Berber camp under a blanket of stars.
Wake up to a magical sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast, we depart for the impressive Todra Gorge, a giant canyon perfect for a hike. We then continue along the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs” to reach the spectacular Dades Valley, famous for its rock formations. Overnight in a hotel overlooking the valley.
After breakfast, we tour the fragrant Valley of Roses and arrive in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa.” We visit the Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famed film location. After lunch, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, arriving in vibrant Marrakech in the afternoon.
A full day to discover the charms of Marrakech. A guided tour takes you to iconic sites: the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs, and the Bahia Palace. In the afternoon, delve into the labyrinthine souks and the frenetic Jemaa el‑Fnaa square, which transforms into an open‑air spectacle at night.
We begin our return journey north, stopping in Casablanca to see the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, perched above the Atlantic Ocean. We then continue back to Tangier for a final farewell dinner and overnight stay.
